The Creek Fire has grown slightly to 15,619 acres, but containment has jumped from 40 percent to 70 percent, according to Cal Fire.

The White House approved California's request for federal assistance to help with wildfire response in Southern California. It comes in response to a request from Gov. Brown sent Thursday, along with emergency proclamations by Brown for several counties.
"California is grateful for the quick approval of our request and the ongoing efforts of local, state and federal emergency responders to protect communities across Southern California," Brown said in a written statement.
There have been two reported injuries.
City officials created an interactive map with evacuation, shelter, and school closure information for the Skirball and Creek fires.
KPCC created a map of the fire boundaries, evacuation centers, animal shelters, and evacuation zones:
The Angeles National Forest has put fire restrictions in place within the forest and placed the fire danger level at extreme. Visitors to the forest are not allowed to light campfires or grill.
